About the designer: In 1846, a group of artisans from Madrid opened a fur studio in the city center, and in 1872, the German, Enrique Loewe Roessberg became their principal business partner. At the time, the leather artisans and specialists attracted Madrid's aristocracy and bourgeoisie, and the first company, E. Loewe was created in the Spanish capital on the Calle Principe in 1892. The fashion house was not only known for its elegance and refinement, but also for its use of quality leathers like lambskin, crocodile, iguana and snakeskin. In 1905, Loewe was named the Official Supplier to the Royal House, and due to their reputation as the most luxurious boutique in Madrid, the brand began to expand throughout all of Spain in 1910. Today, Loewe approaches 170 years as one of the world’s major luxury houses, defined by the modernity of its past, an unwavering confidence in the present, and a firm look forward.
